Star Wars Fans kickoff CF Awareness Month with World Record Attempt
Each year on May the 4th Star Wars fans from across the globe celebrate our love for all things Star Wars; coming together for events centered around the official Star Wars Day. May is also Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month. This May let’s gather together to eliminate a greater evil, Cystic Fibrosis, and attempt a world record lightsaber battle.
Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. Cystic Fibrosis affects over 30,000 people in the U.S. More than 75% of those are diagnosed by the age of 2. Cystic Fibrosis is a terminal illness, but recent advances are adding years to the lives of CF Warriors. You can find out more from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Kansas City hosts one of the best CF clinics in the country at Children’s Mercy Hospital. Children’s Mercy touches the lives of 1 in 4 residents of Kansas City and thousands of patients from all over the world; this May let’s give back. May 6th, 2017 at Berkley Riverfront Park join us in attempting a Guinness Book World Record for the most people engaged in a lightsaber battle in one place.
